About Us

Company History

The idea behind TryMyWork was born when Glenn and Jeanette Corliss, new owners of a 100-year-old house and parents of two young children, were in the market for nannies, handymen and yard workers. They scoured the usual anonymous online listing services, conducted countless interviews, but still ended up choosing blindly when it came time to hire a worker. They quickly realized that a good interview was no guarantee of a job well done, and that the process was frustrating for all parties involved.

Glenn and Jeanette hunted for a better service but there simply wasn't one; self-employed Service Providers simply don't have an efficient, trustworthy way to attract Customers, while Customers don'’t have a way to make informed hiring decisions. TryMyWork fills this void by replacing the interview with a work sample and gives self-employed service providers a way to let their skills do the talking.
